Art for God's Sake is an event that was developed and hosted by Fr. J.J. Mech at St. Anastasia in May of 2013. The purpose of the event was to expose the community to the transcendent beauty of art while inviting artists to share their talents so that ‘the knowledge of God can be better revealed and the preaching of the Gospel can become clearer to the human mind. Art for God’s Sake was a juried, professional art show that highlighted sacred themes. The three-day, multi-faceted exhibition included an elegant opening-night gala and wine tasting, art galleries, church and chapel tours, interactive art demos, live art performances, and more! In addition to the juried and student art shows, Art for God’s Sake also showcased the non-juried artwork of well-known artists and local clergy. Art was available for purchase.
