Consider forming a Family Life Ministry Team dedicated to the pastoral needs of families. The ministry team could be staffed by a combination of staff and volunteers who are skilled in the area of social work and counseling. This team would formed to talk with families about common issues (marriage issues, addictions, anxiety/depression, challenges with kids/elderly parents, financial issues, etc.), pray with families, and trained to refer them to other services as needed such as counseling, grief ministry, divorce support, marriage help, etc.
